Good composition - the edge of the parking lot is aligned with the upper horizontal 3rd line, the subject is walking towards the center from a vertical composition line.

Good composition - the subject is facing towards the center from a vertical 3rd. The line of shadow from the tree is on the upper horizontal 3rd line.

Good composition - the edge of the grass and bottom of the building line up with the lower 3rd horizontal line, the subject is walking towards the center (although away from the camera) and is on the rightmost vertical 3rd.

Bad composition - there isn't really a horizon, and the subject - the white reflection on the edge of the puddle - is not aligned to a composition line.

Bad composition - the subtle line of grass that is the closest thing to a horizon is slanted, the subject (grass) is not isolated on one of the vertical third lines, and the background is busy because of the water, somewhat concealing the focus.
